Display Gardens

The Garden Center has incorporated a wonderful display garden that winds across a sloped garden area. Sound familiar? Many of us have just this type of garden area here in the foothills. Come and see the charming plantings created for this display garden. Perennials, ground covers, grasses, annuals, vegetables, roses, vines, herbs; you will find all this and more planted in an appealing design at the Ridge Road Garden Center's Display Garden. Groundcovers hold the soil well

Groundcover roses and Spirea make good neighbors in this type of planting.

Grasses display well on hot, dry slopes

Shop early for great fall selections! Grasses, groundcovers, Pansies, and Lemon Verbena do well planted while the weather is cool and the soil soft and moist. Lavenders will develop strong roots when planted during the fall season.

Use groundcovers that bloom at different times

Among the groundcovers that mature quickly, do well on slopes, and require little care are Alysum, Vinca, Portulaca, and Verbena.
